Texas Texans to play Home games in New Mexico

CLOVIS, N.M. – (thesportsbean.com) Once again Mother Nature has displaced the Texas Texans. Last year the Texans were left without a home when wildfires burned down their stadium in Wichita Falls landing them in Lubbock. But an agreement to let the team work out and play their home games at Texas Tech University in Lubbock has abruptly ended.

Unfortunately, as college football season neared, scheduling conflicts has them on the road again. Texas Tech University President, Jon Whitmore Ph.D, expressed regret in a statement released early Thursday; “Texas Tech has reached a decision to sever ties with Sportsball and The Texas Texans. We wish the Texans well in their future endeavors”.

When a reached by phone, a reporter from the schools student paper (who asked to remain anonymous) echoed the President’s statement. “Coach Leach said to get them out. I mean that’s the same team that lost a practice facility to Hurricane Rita last year. So, they’re used to moving and stuff. Maybe more local support would have helped them. I don’t know. Coach said tell them that ‘Hurricane Get The [deleted] Out’ has reached land in west Texas.”

This week though, Texans General Manager David Nelson said that they have reached an agreement with officials in Clovis, New Mexico.

“We are happy to announce, that the Texas Texans have found a home in New Mexico!” an excited Nelson said.

Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
